Mills Recruitment is working with a Western Australian manufacturing company that specialises in providing high-quality steel framing solutions.

We are currently seeking a Production Planning & Design Manager to lead all technical and administrative functions, including detailing, estimating, scheduling, customer service, and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all technical and administrative functions, including detailing, estimating, scheduling, customer service, and administration.
  • Manage team performance.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the detailing process.
  • Cultivate and lead an inclusive, high-performance culture built around collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop the team.
  • Oversee recruitment and resource planning.
  • Implement and maintain processes and governance.
  • Collaborate with the construction group for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement standard work schedules.
  • Manage costs and throughput.
  • Implement Lean practices throughout office functions.
  • Support the development of new products.
  • Manage contractors.

About You:

  • Background in Steel Frame Detailing, Drafting, or Engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Understanding of residential construction methods.
  • Health and Safety focused.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Team player who builds rapport with colleagues.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and time frame requirements.
