GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Description: As a creative member of the marketing department this position creates designs that bring the wonders of science to life. From print and display to digital, this position collaborates across departments turning innovative ideas into reality. Professionalism? Check. Creativity? Double check. Attention to detail? Absolutely. Organizational skills and a strong understanding of print production? Definitely. And most importantly, Imagination.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design/development of marketing, educational, programming, operations, and development collateral.
- Contribute to environmental and exhibit design, planning, and component fabrication.
- Create eye-catching and on-brand visual materials, including print and digital assets such as brochures, flyers, banners, social media graphics, and more.
- Manage vendor and supplier interactions effectively and professionally, as a representative of the organization, and in an effort to secure and maintain the best costs and services.
- Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic organization; able to juggle multiple design projects and deadlines.
- Participates in all facets of the design and production process of assigned projects.
- Offer a variety of design solutions while keeping skills fresh and industry know-how up to date.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in the graphic design field.
- Heaping amounts of creativity.
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude motivated to think both inside AND outside the box.
- Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator and Photoshop, and if you dabble in After Effects or Premiere Pro, it’s a bonus.
- Balances attention to detail with a ‘big picture’ view of project relevance.
- Great at working through a problem to find a solution.
- Enjoys the communication process; welcomes feedback to fuel growth and creativity
- A compelling portfolio to be considered for this position.
